The Museum of Euskal Herria of the regional council of Bizkay will show from the 20th March 2001 a new exhibition entitled: "Woman at Work".
This new exhibition consists of more than thirty photographs in black and white taken at the beginning of the 20th century by several photographers. They reflect the working activities carried out by women in the agricultural sector,industry and fishing.
The authors of these pictures are forerunners of the Photography in the Basque Country. Their works, taken from the Local File (Archivo Municipal) of Vitoria-Gasteiz, were elaborated with a "clear creative purpose" which adds an extra value.
The exhibition is produced by the "Fundación Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa" and among the photographers are: Enrique Guinea, Salbador Azpiazu, Ceferino Yanguas... all of them are profesionals.
This new exhibition will be open from the 20th March to the 22nd April.
